The design of AutoCAD started in 1978 when Chris Anderson, a member of the Autodesk staff at that time, became frustrated with the difficulties and limitations of his previous CAD tool, the ADT (Autodesk Data Translator). The.dxf file is used to exchange AutoCAD drawings among AutoCAD users. The.dxf file is also a collection of AutoLISP data structures. It is used to exchange model data among AutoCAD users. In general, conventional white light-emitting devices are constructed of two or more light-emitting diode (LED) light sources. This technique is used when a full-color display device is desired, with one LED light source for each of the red, green and blue colors.
White light-emitting diode arrays are known in the art. For example, the PCT Publication No. WO 00/50040 (Sugaya) discloses a white-light LED array, consisting of a blue LED and a phosphor, wherein the blue LED is combined with the phosphor using a reflective substrate, and the phosphor is applied on a transparent substrate. In Sugaya, the LED chip of the blue LED is the primary light source. This type of white LED array, with the LED chip as the primary light source, is difficult to produce due to the poor light extraction efficiency of the light-absorbing substrate.
The conventional approach for achieving high light extraction efficiency includes mounting the LED light source on a transparent or translucent surface and locating the substrate or structure which absorbs the light in the center of the light emission. This technique is described in European Patent No. 0 677 666 B1 (Gill et al.), the contents of which are incorporated herein by reference in its entirety.
The light extraction efficiency of a light-emitting diode array can be increased by using a reflecting surface or a light-reflective device located between the light source and the substrate or structure which absorbs the light. This technique is described in U.S. Pat. No. 6,650,027 (Sun et al.), the contents of which are incorporated herein by reference in their entirety.
